Historic Houses of Ireland are supporting a biodiversity event at Tullynisk House in Offaly, as part of Ireland’s National Biodiversity Week, which will include a tour of wildflower meadows and native woodlands.
The tour at Tullynisk will give visitors the opportunity to experience richly diverse wild environments and see the results of improved land management in practice. Alex Caraffi, Managing Director of Agrolo Land Futures, which offers sustainable land management advice, will be on hand to talk about the value of landscapes which support native species, their interrelationship with agriculture and the positive financial impact that biodiverse land-management can make to farms.
The event at Tullynisk is on Wednesday 22 May 2024 and runs from 13.00 -17.00 and organisers suggest that is worth taking the opportunity to visit the nearby Birr Castle demense in the morning particularly if you are travelling from further afield and want to see more of the area.
Historic Houses of Ireland predict this will be a popular event so it is advisable to book early via the following link – Book Ticket
